Who We Are and What We Do
Daniel Lizárraga, Regional Director for CRS Southwest
Daniel A. Lizárraga holds a MPA degree from the University of Texas at Austin, an MTS degree from Washington Theological Union, and a B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame. Before joining CRS, Mr. Lizárraga worked at the Center for Public Policy Priorities in Austin, TX, and also as a Field Representative for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Western Region. He served as Executive Director of the Secretariat for the Church in Latin America, U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Mr. Lizárraga was named Regional Director in August 2005; in that capacity, he collaborates with dioceses and Catholic organizations to promote awareness of CRS, Catholic Social Teaching and global issues and works to foster relationships with bishops, diocesan directors and other leaders in the region.
Anna C. Huth, Adult Education and Formation Program Coordinator
Anna C. Huth holds a M. Div. degree from Oblate School of Theology and a B.A. degree from St. Mary's University. Ms. Huth joined CRS Southwest in May 2006 after serving for more than three decades in pastoral ministry, pastoral administration and community development, with particular emphases on retreat and workshop leadership and the Church's call to solidarity. She is responsible for CRS Southwest's outreach to people in ministry and other adults regarding Catholic Social Teaching, global solidarity and the mission and work of CRS. Ms. Huth also coordinates CRS Southwest efforts for Operation Rice Bowl, speaker tours and office volunteer opportunities.
Marcos G. Martínez, Youth and Young Adult Program Coordinator
Marcos G. Martínez holds an MTS degree from Oblate School of Theology and a B.A. degree from the College of Santa Fe, NM. Prior to joining CRS Southwest in May 2006, Mr. Martínez served on the staff at the Mexican-American Cultural Center, San Antonio, TX, and previously, was Director of Youth Ministry for the Diocese of El Paso. Mr. Martínez is a nationally recognized figure in youth ministry and has worked in that field since 1985. He is responsible for coordinating and facilitating CRS educational activities, which target youth and young adults, as well as campus ministry to dioceses, religious, and civic organizations, coalitions, and institutions in the Southwest Region. CRS' outreach to youth and young adults focuses on advancing Catholic Social Teaching, with an emphasis on global solidarity.
Juan J. Molina, O.Ss.T, Fair Trade and Advocacy Program Coordinator
Juan J. Molina holds a Ph.D. in economics from Fordham University, and an M.A./M.Div. from Washington Theological Union. Father Molina has served as a lecturer at both the University of Texas in Dallas and Fordham University. He has also worked as a CRS intern in Zimbabwe and as a U.N. intern. Father Molina recently published a book entitled, The Impact of Remittances in Developing Countries, which was based on his doctoral dissertation. He joined CRS Southwest in May 2006 and is responsible for outreach to dioceses, religious and civic organizations, coalitions, and institutions in the region in order to educate and inform Catholics and others on global issues and provide opportunities for active engagement on legislative and policy matters, as well as in other CRS activities including the CRS Fair Trade, Peacebuilding, and Global Fellows Programs.
Ángeles ("Angie") Pla, Office Coordinator
Ángeles ("Angie") Pla holds a Bachelor's Degree in Office Systems Administration from the University of Puerto Rico. Prior to joining CRS Southwest in September 2005, Ms. Pla served as an Administrative Coordinator for an international non-profit based in Arlington, VA. She is responsible for office management, budget and finance, and information systems.
Anna Kathryn Webb, International Partnership Program Coordinator
Anna Kathryn Webb holds a Ph.D. in social anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Webb first worked at the Office of Pastoral Care of Migrants and Refugees, USCCB. Subsequently, she worked in international development in 22 countries, specializing in poverty reduction programs. Ms. Webb joined CRS Southwest in May 2006 and is responsible for the office's participation in the CRS Southwest/CRS Honduras joint project, "Sharing Faith: Health Care Support for the Poor in Honduras," background research and report for the CRS U.S.-Mexico Border Program, Foods Resources Bank, university relations, and exploring new opportunities, based on Catholic Social Teaching and global solidarity, which can be offered to Catholics in the Southwest Region.
