CRS Northeast/Mid-Atlantic

Role of CRS Northeast/Mid-Atlantic

The CRS Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regional Office of CRS, located in Radnor, Pennsylvania just outside of Philadelphia, opened in December 2005. The office serves Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia Washington, DC, and the Archdiocese for Military Services. The region has close to 20 million Catholics, 39 dioceses, over 100 Catholic colleges and universities, 2,000 Catholic primary schools, 200 diocesan and private Catholic secondary schools, and over 5,000 parishes.

The role of the CRS Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regional Office is to inform and engage Catholics in the work of global solidarity and to build on the educational and formation work that is already being done in the region. The Regional Director and staff serve as the primary contact in the region.

Goals and Objectives

The goal of CRS Northeast/Mid-Atlantic is to make CRS present in Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, to serve U.S. Catholics through diocesan and other institutional structures, to build awareness of our work and the needs of the poor by providing resources and opportunities for engagement in global solidarity activities.

  • To ensure that all diocesan ministries in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic recognize that they are challenged by the call to Global Solidarity and have appropriate opportunities to respond to that call.
  • To inform and enable educational institutions, social service institutions and networks, and other faith based groups respond to the call for Global Solidarity in their respective ministries.
  • To project CRS and the U.S. Catholic Church as a “servant leader” and a “voice for the poor and marginalized” in the promotion of charity and justice in the world to U.S. Catholics and society in the Northern and Mid-Atlantic States.
  • To increase support for CRS activities and programs, both domestic and overseas.
